Historical descriptionPennsylvania’s Medal of Honor Memorial is embedded in Soldiers’ Grove, a tree-lined quadrangle in the State Capitol Complex designated by statute in 1987 to honor war veterans. Granite recipient stones are arranged in radiating conflict arcs that read as a chronological landscape from the Civil War forward, ending at the Shores of Peace and a grove of Remember benches.
