Visitor guidance The cemetery and visitor center are open to the public under American Battle Monuments Commission schedules. International travelers should verify current hours, ceremonies, transportation, and any temporary restrictions before departure. Peregory’s grave location is fixed, but visitors interested in the medal should contact ABMC because the repository record does not guarantee public exhibition.
Historical description The Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial overlooks Omaha Beach near Colleville-sur-Mer and is administered by the American Battle Monuments Commission. Its cemetery, memorial, landscaped grounds, and visitor center interpret the Normandy campaign, the service members buried or commemorated there, and the human cost of the liberation of Europe. The visitor center provides historical orientation before visitors enter one of the most significant American commemorative landscapes overseas.
