Visitor guidance The museum is located inside Camp Shelby south of Hattiesburg. Historical description The Mississippi Armed Forces Museum at Camp Shelby preserves the military history of Mississippians and the state’s military installations from the nineteenth century to the present. Its holdings include uniforms, equipment, weapons, vehicles, flags, medals, photographs, correspondence, diaries, and other archival material. The Halls of Honor provide a state-centered framework for interpreting individual service and valor alongside the museum’s broader chronological galleries.
