Visitor guidance Find the memorial on the southeast lawn of the Arkansas State Capitol at 500 Woodlane Avenue. The Secretary of State publishes current maps, parking, tour, and security guidance; visitors should use those instructions for the Capitol grounds and public entrances.
Historical description Arkansas’s Medal of Honor Recipients Memorial was developed by a state commission beginning in 1996, designed by Little Rock artist John Deering, and dedicated on November 18, 2000. A bronze eagle anchors a circular arrangement of bronze plaques on the southeast lawn of the Arkansas State Capitol. The memorial recognizes Arkansans as well as non-Arkansans connected through military service in the state or later burial there.
